Ferris Cowper report to BLPC
- Editor (30th Sep 2013 - 17:26:17)

REPORT TO BRAMSHOTT AND LIPHOOK PARISH COUNCIL
FROM COUNTY COUNCILLOR FERRIS COWPER
30th September 2013

Things have been fairly quiet concerning County Council matters during the Summer holiday. The following seem worthy of note.

As this report is short I will not be attending tonight but I will attend the next meeting which is in my diary as the 28th October.

1. Highways

The resurfacing overran but should now be complete. I know there was a lot of disruption and concern. I invested an immense about of time dealing with queries and complaints as I am sure the Parish Council did as well. I thought the reporting back to me and the Parish Council by the project manager was good and I also thought that in general the community liaison was reasonable. I remain dissatisfied with the way HCC implements signage, including the timing of putting out signs and their clarity and helpfulness.

I hope we secure the long lasting maintenance benefits promised by this project.

2. Children’s Services
The discussions between myself, HCC and local schools concerning primary school provision are continuing. At this stage there is nothing to report from these discussions other than constructive progress.

I have asked HCC to make the numbers concerning primary school capacity and demand available on a wider basis but at present the data is not available. Additional work is required.

3. Liphook in Bloom

I will be presenting the “Best of the Best” awards in the Millennium Centre on Tuesday evening, 15th October.

4. Libraries

I will be meeting the Assistant Director from HCC to discuss local libraries on Monday 14th October. Please let me know if you have any issues to raise.

5. Contact

You can contact me at ferris.cowper@hants.gov.uk or on 01428 609858.

Cllr. Ferris Cowper,
Hampshire County Councillor for Bramshott and Liphook, Grayshott and Headley
30th September 2013
