Really loud music early hours Sunday
- Auntie Social (29th Sep 2013 - 03:41:20)

There is some hugely loud dance music playing at the moment keeping us awake somewhere around here. Does anyone know who we should report this kind of thing to as it's now nearly 4am? Not meaning to be a spoilsport or anything...

I also heard it in Griggs Green but it seemed to be loud and far away so no idea where it was from. The only thing you can do is call the police next time. I do agree it was anti social and selfish.

Yes, me too.
I know of some loud parties years ago off the Hewshott lane. I'm all in favour of a good bash now and then, but if repeated anytime soon then this is very antisocial. I suppose next time we ought to contact the police or parish council or both.

I live in Forest Lane Close, off of Longmoor Road, and I too could hear the loud music!

Was still going strong at 3 a.m. Loud bass sounds that travel for miles.

We could hear (and feel) it too in Wey Lodge Close, off Haslemere Road. Even hard of hearing spouse could hear it!

kept me awake most of the night, I am at the end of Haslemere Road Must be one of those big houses along Hewshott Lane with a marquee.
could they have at least played some decent music that would have made it better, but no we had this thump thump thump.

Was definitely excessively loud. No need for that so late, especially if you actually give damn about other people and pets!

Inked,
Let's go!!! On a serious note I do feel sorry. It's not nice being kept awake. Let's hope there will not be another one till Christmas, though Halloween is nigh!

Next time it happens I'll be calling the non-emergency police number 101. I'm all up for people having fun but when it's keeping us awake at 5am in the morning with no prospect of a lie-in due to having a toddler and a baby then I have less patience! 5am is a bit different to 1am or 2am!

Does anyone know where it came from - seems to have been heard over a very large area!

The police probably won't be interested in this sort of thing nowadays as the proper people to handle this are East Hampshire District Council's environmental health officers. I'm not sure how East Hampshire handle out of hours complaints but some councils have a dedicated noise pollution teams that will come out during weekend evenings (though only up until about midnight though so don't leave it too late).

The police would only become interested if there were other illegal activities going on.

'The police would only become interested if there were other illegal activities going on.'

Like if someone was going slightly over the speeding limit.

I have also been hearing it. It started on Saturday evening and didn't end till really early sunday morning. I live on Haslemere Road and I could hear it very clearly!

There was a marquee in a garden in Hewshott Lane a week ago last Saturday, obviously for a party or wedding on the Saturday night, the music could have come from there. But, I think it is coming from a car with incredibly loud speakers which cruises the village late at night now and again, probably when they can afford the fuel to do so. That is how it is heard all over the village and why you can here it one minute then gone the next. Just my opinion.

- liz (9th Oct 2013 - 17:03:14)

The noise seemed to be consistent and always coming from one direction (no capitals) although perhaps there was a car as well! Would be interested to know where it came from (just which village!) out of curiosity. It came roughly from the Hewshott direction but could have been almost anywhere!

My son followed the noise and traced it to what appeared to be a wedding party, in the farm, lots of white vans......thought he was quite brave as he had previously been mugged at gun point in Liphook (last year).
Fortunately the mugger was caught and the gun proved to be a replica but you don't expect it here!.
