re gerbils
- alison (19th Sep 2013 - 13:30:26)
Does anyone know of any gerbil breeders?
I am trying to avoid getting some from a commercial pet shop and would like to find a reputable breeder please!

The Liss Garden Centre get their small furries from local breeders. I know this because I have bought several hamsters from them and have had to wait sometimes until their supplier - a local breeder - has some to sell. They've always been very healthy, are kept in very nice conditions in the shop, and will only sell to adults who supply their name and address etc.

I also agree with DML - the pet store at Hilliers in Liss is fantastic. We too get our hammies from there and have never (touch wood) had to take them to the vets with any sickness. They also handle them regularly.
They are looked after in very good conditions and the staff always give great advice.

Thank you everyone. I phoned up Liss and they didn't have any pairs or trios available at the moment, but actually have managed to find a breeder over in Ash, so we are off there tomorrow! She sounded really nice and actually is a lot cheaper than the pet shops too :)

Hi Alison, glad you are getting the gerbils. It is Clare, you were right! Also there is a lady in Alton who has some babies for sale! You must check out "Preloved" and go into pets, then into rodents!
Good luck for tomorrow. You can tell Clare that there is someone in Liphook who really fancies her female mice! Lol! xx
