Re: Liphook in Bloom GOLD - Katy (8th Sep 2008 - 16:24:02) Many thanks Helen, we won GOLD and for the first time "Best in Category" for our group of Small Town. This is classed on population size, in the South and South East in Bloom competition which covers Hampshire, Dorset, East and West Sussex, Surrey, Isle of Wight, Kent and part of Wiltshire. This is one of 17 regional campains which make up Britain in Bloom. As you can imagine we were thrilled to be the best out of all these counties and it really goes to show what a great community Liphook is. As a class winner we may be nominated to take part in Britain in Bloom next year which is by invitation only. We will find out later in the year I believe if we are nominated. A special congratulation must go to Bohunt school who won a silver gilt in the school grounds competition, well done! Finally a big thank you to all our sponsors, weeders, waterers, litter pickers, and supporters who do a lot of work behind the scenes. And of course a big thank you to all the residents of Liphook who help keep Liphook Bloomin' lovely. Katy
