An Opportunity to Sponsor
- Joanna Elliott (10th Sep 2013 - 16:56:38)

I have organised a concert at Liphook Methodist Church on Saturday, 5th October. Ensemble Concertante, are an exciting clarinet quartet and they are playing for me, to help raise funds and awareness of The PBC Foundation, of which I am the Hampshire regional volunteer.

I am inviting local businesses for the chance to sponsor this event and in return your name will appear in the Programme (and subsequent press releases).

Please call me on 01428 725399 if you feel you'd like to sponsor this!
Thanks - Jo.

Ensemble Concertante are an exciting clarinet quartet who collectively have performed internationally as soloists, recorded at the Maida Vale Studios for Radio 3 and Radio 2's 'Friday Night is Music Night' and with numerous orchestras and chamber groups.

They play a versatile repertoire covering a broad palette of styles that have delighted and moved audiences all over the country.

A new work especially written for them by the Portsmouth composer Andrew Hadfield, will be premièred at this event.

A very big THANK YOU to Nadine from Liphook Carpet Warehouse for your most generous offer of support. It was so nice to talk with you this morning and I very much look forward to meeting you next Saturday.

May Li this is a non-ticketed event but I am asking for retiring donations.....so it is entirely your decision what you would like to give.

Just to update you all following Saturday evening.
Ensemble Concertante proved to be an extremely talented clarinet quartet and they entertained the audience with a range of music from classical numbers such as Quartet No.2 in c minor Op.4 by Bernhard Crusell through to “Bohemium Rhapsody” by Freddie Mercury. Portsmouth composer, Andrew Hadfield, was also in attendance to listen to a new piece he had especially written for them and which was premiered at this concert. Although this was a very courageous and challenging move by the quartet, it showcased their immense skill and agility working individually and as a group.
Around 60 people attended the concert and a total of £483 was raised for The PBC Foundation (UK).
Amongst the audience were two of the main sponsors, Nick and Nadine Gilbert from the newly opened Liphook Carpet Warehouse and Karen Wolf. Other sponsors of the evening were Adrian Bird, R.I.B.A. and The Co-operative Society (Liphook).
Massive thanks to all sponsors for making the evening such a success and heartfelt thanks to all who attended.

I would just like to say that we had a really lovely evening, listening to the clarinet quartet perform. They were amazing - and Jo, you did a superb job organising it and well done you for all the money you raised. x
