Missed Opportunity
- Eddie (10th Sep 2013 - 12:31:34)
What a wasted opportunity in the square, while doing all the roadworks, why didn't they rip out all of the flower beds and make more room for parking cars. They could have narrowed the pavements and had parking right through the village. This would help all of the local businesses; who can be bothered to park in the Midhurst road car park and walk to the shops? It's easier to order off of the internet. If the old people that plant the flowers want something to do on a Sunday they could do some litter picking or something.
| | Interesting idea - but I don't think it will have gone down well with the locals, both young and old, who greatly enjoy the floral displays throughout the year. |

Yet another fine example of how we are expected to compromise our quality of life (nice flower beds) and suffer the costs of private fossil fuel motorist lifestyle (car parks)….

Eddie
If you're the sort of person who can't be bothered to walk from the Midhurst Road car park to the Square and so would order on the internet instead, I can't see you ever getting off your derriere to go to a shop anyway.
On a practical note, do you really think parking on the edge of the roundabouts would be a good idea? (Actually I assume this is a wind up because nobody is that daft!)

I imagine Eddie's post is either a wind up or a deliberate attempt to upset people and start yet another argument on this board...
