Bramshot Place
- Chris (4th Sep 2008 - 12:38:39)

I see that Liphook.co.uk is now allowing building firms to advertise their schemes as news. Interesting considering the controversy surrounding the goings on at this building site (see previous entries) and the fact that it's existence was hardly welcomed in the first place. Are all schemes going to be allowed to do the same or was this a one-off because someone felt sorry for Bill Gair and Helical Bar Plc? As for any historical significance that the site may have had, it seems most of it has been well and truly bulldozered out of site. Thanks Bill!

Hi

I for one am looking forward to seeing the restored gatehouse. Since living in Liphook for 8 years it has always been surrounded by metal boarding to presumably stop it from vandalism and wear and tear etc. The only picture of it I have seen is on an old post card so I am glad it is being repaired, even if the manner of it's up keep may upset some.

regards

Katy

I think it an insult to a historic tudor gatehouse to use it as a bus shelter, and if sales are going so well why the big sales pitch?

Well I for one will be interested to see the gatehouse restored and would much rather see it used as a bus stop rather than witness further deterioration or destruction altogether.

So much better than the rudimentary shelters which offer little comfort to travellers and serve as alternative urinals as used up and down the country.

Paul, you surprise me, I wouldn't place you as somebody that uses bus shelters as urinals... each to their own!!

All the Best

K
