Summer 2008
- Karen Feeney (4th Sep 2008 - 11:15:50)

Dear Mothers of Liphook,

I think I may have gone deaf in the last couple of hours.
Since about 9.00am this morning when I left my eldest son at school, there seems to have been a reduction in the amount of noise I can hear! There is a hush and peacefulness that hasn't been present in my house since sometime in late July.

Honestly what an awful summer holidays for the children. We have worked our way through every DVD we own, replayed every DS game we have, argued, shouted and generally been really grotty with each other. Every time the sun appeared between rain clouds I shoved them outside only to dash back in once the rain started again! I never knew two children could argue so much, from rising until resting they were shouting over what to watch on TV or whose go it was on the DS aaahhh... I hope I am not the only mother in Liphook who has turned to copious amounts of alcohol to ease the pain of the last six weeks, I am, oh dear! Still it is over now and on Monday the smallest one goes back to nursery.

Watch out Guildford I can feel a shopping spree coming on. Not because I need anything, but because I CAN!!! No hangers-on and not once will I have the need to say 'stop arguing you two,' or 'get off that' or 'stand still just for one minute'....

Please don't tell me how many weeks until Half Term.....???!!

Love them both really!

Karen

Just reminded me of a morning when walking my dog.

A young mum with 2 children, pushchair and dog, was out in the rain. Children well dressed in waterproofs and wellies. The smiles on the kids faces was a tonic, and the fun they had being allowed to jump in and out of muddy puddles. They were still there half an hour later when I returned.

Some of the best entertainment is free!!.

Sue

Don't disagree, jumping in puddles is fun - but not everyday!!!
