Mystery Hum
- Eneida (28th Aug 2008 - 18:48:16)

I've been reading in the Messenger that there's an unexplicable high pitch hum in Liphook in an area between the Council Offices, Sainsburys and Chilteley Manor. All sorts of experts have done checks and nobody can find out where it's coming from!!

Apparently there's one just like it in Sudbury in Suffolk too and nobody can find the source for that one either.

A great nuisance for the local residents, of course, but how intriguing and rather spooky :O....

I wonder what it can be and if we'll ever find out??

Tinnitus ???

You are extremely derisory on the very serious problem of tinitus. It is very serious, you know. I went to my G.P. some time back complaining of this very thing and he couldn't hear it. Deaf doctors should not be consulted for tinitus, possibly

Just get some earplugs, then you won't care!

If you have a sky + box in your bedroom check that it is not making a humming noise. I was kept awake for quite a few nights until I realised it was making so much noise. I turned it off and all was peaceful. Don't suppose this is causing the problem though but it all helps.

Has anyone been able to identify this noise. My Mother is being driven crazy by this humming noise at night in Longmoor road area. We have tried everything inside the house, water off, electricity off, etc. Is there a mobile phone mast in the area?
any help hugely appreciated

Just a thought, could it be electricity pylon (think there is one down that end of village) I notice when you walk past them and especially when it is raining they can make a bit of a noise?
