Cher in Liphook: Friday June 11! - Freddie Dawkins (8th May 2004 - 20:30:59) Don't worry, you have not misread the subject line. Cher - aka Yvonne Halen - is appearing in cabaret at the Millennium Centre on Friday June 11. Yvonne was one of the top acts to emerge from ITV's Star in Their Eyes show. She has some of her tracks available at: www.tributesabroad.co.uk/tune/info_cher_yvonne.html She really looks and sounds the part. Yvonne will be joined by two other Stars in Their Eyes contestants who have become full-time entertainers after appearing on the original TV show. Gerry Grant (Roy Orbison) and Billy Lee (Tom Jones) will be appearing too, and the whole show will be compered by singer Dave Simpson. The evening will start at 8pm and close around 11.30pm. Tickets will be on sale shortly from the Centre or the Parish Office. The set-up will be as a cabaret club, with tables and chairs, to bring a more intimate feel to the evening. Raised staging will provide an excellent view from all parts of the room. The bar will be open throughout the evening and there will be one or two surprises for the audience.
