Links area manager what have you done???? - steve (9th Aug 2013 - 06:48:47) I was in the Links the other day & over heard some staff talking. They were saying that the head chef that had been offered the staff bungalow when he applied for the job had turned it down, that he did not want the staff bungalow in the Links grounds. So the nice pub manager of the Links, who I hear is now leaving, gave the bungalow to two young staff members, a young couple, I have met a few times as a regular at the pub! The couple are Beth & Glen they were making this their first home together. From what I understand the bungalow was a mess; holes in internal doors where they had been punched ect ect, they had done work on the bungalow started to make it nice & their home, when the head chef saw what they had done he decided he now wanted it! When he went to the manager got nowhere, so then went to the area manager & got his own way, the young couple were told they had to move out! I think this is so unfair!!! I spend a lot of money in the Links (£200/300 a week) with clients for lunch ect, & a few evening drinks on the way home. With the way they have treated this young couple I think is disgusting & I, for one, will not be spending one more penny in this pub until the area manager has put the wrong she has done right. The Deers Hut it is !!!!!!! good luck to Beth & Glen were ever they have moved too, hope more people will let the manager know how you feel about this, think if it was your own kids! The poor couple have to work with the guy that has stolen their home, how does he sleep at night?

Re: Links area manager what have you done???? - Suzi (9th Aug 2013 - 09:18:34) Road works - now prevent any further visits here anyway - such a shame - its far superior to the Deers Hut, where there's a 'that'll do culture' perhaps the area manager should support a reasonable diversion & communicate to the contractor that this business is inaccessible!! or even - just leave the manager to manage..........

Re: Links area manager what have you done???? - Julie (9th Aug 2013 - 19:56:56) If the young couple paid for the repairs out of their own pocket (which they shouldn't have had to if the accommodation went with the job) they should get the money back from either the person who's now living in there or the area manager. Personally I'd look for a new job.

How would she like her home taken away For her??? She needs to sort this out & reinstate the couple back in their home!! Even find her self a different job if this is The best way she can manage!!!!!!!!!

Re: Links area manager what have you done???? - Sarah (13th Aug 2013 - 10:18:38) It's one thing to overhear a conversation at the pub and have your own opinion about it, but quite another to then post the details of someone else's business all over the internet! I am sure there are more sides to this story, and even if there aren't I am sure the people involved are capable of fighting their own battles without having their dirty washing aired in front of the whole village online! If I was them i'd be mortified!

I don't know what you think you've heard but do you honestly think posting it on this site, when you don't even know for sure - is really appropriate? Grow a pair and confront those involved before spreading your lies!!! Any problems I will be on what was table 12!

Why is there always some people that have nothing better to do than talk crap on here!!! This article is a fact you must be a part of fullers to leave talkback comments like u have!

Well Beth is my daughter & what Steve has said is totally true So until you know the truth, talk about something you do know about!!! If you want to talk at table 12 anytime!!!!! & also you know everyone that uses the pub Get a life!!!!!!!!!

Re: Links area manager what have you done???? - S (13th Aug 2013 - 17:14:59) I think that people need to remember that there are 2 sides to every story and everyone has been very quick to jump on the bandwagon however has anybody heard the facts from someone other than the couple involved? .... Has anyone sat down with the area manager other than the couple involved? No so how can you know this is the whole 'truth' .... Well you can't really! And as she is your daughter don't you think you should be talking to the pub directly instead of slating them on a public page they will probably not see? Or are you worried that maybe the area manager will say something you didn't know?
