fair - fred (24th Jul 2013 - 15:51:20) can any one tell me why a fair was allowed on the green on monday when it is not starting till friday night ?

Re: fair - Helen (24th Jul 2013 - 17:30:17) I'm assuming they are there to set up the fair. Do you expect them to turn up Friday morning and have everything set up by early friday evening? I live opposite the millennium green, no rides have yet started nor have I heard any noise from the fair.

Re: fair - Sarah (24th Jul 2013 - 23:02:35) I'm sure they could physically put it up / down in one day, but they are a travelling fair, they probably set up in a new town every Fri / Sat / Sun, so where do you expect them to go in between? I think it's reasonable that they travel to a new town on the Monday and spend the week, they clearly have permission to be there this week and I can't see that they are causing any problems - aside from creating some excitement for the Liphook Moaners ;). It's not like they visit very often is it.. I say WELCOME, and I look forward to some candy floss and funfairing at the weekend...

Re: fair - tony (25th Jul 2013 - 11:33:57) Health and safety has changed so much in recent years, I doubt they would just be allowed to turn up the night before, bung it all up and whey hey, off you go. I should imagine there have site inspections and safety inspections coming out of their ears, the way local authorities work I'm surprised they don't have to be there three months before.
