Friends
- Caz (21st Apr 2004 - 16:26:09)

Hi

Me and my husband live in Liphook and as we work in London have found it hard to find friends in the area. We are ages 34 (me) and 45(him) and have no children. Is there anyone in the area looking for friends for the occasional pub meal, etc. We enjoy walking and travelling, reading and DIY. Or does anyone have any suggestions of where we could meet people in the area?
We are quite reserved/shy and so do not find it easy.

Thanks.

Caz

I always think the best way to meet people is to join one of the local gyms or try doing evening classes at Bohunt. Something that may involve your hobbies and interests. I have known people to swear by doing this. Hope it helps.

Hello Caz,

Welcome to Liphook.

If you can get your hands on the latest copy of the Liphook Community Parish Magazine you will find a whole page of addresses and contact details for a surprising number of groups and local associations some of which may interest you.

I know there is at least one active walkers group who can regularly be seen tramping about the village. They always look very happy and cheerful so that might be a good place to start.

The Carnival Committee was my starting place when my wife and I moved to the village almost thirty years ago and we still have many friends as a result of this activity even though I am no longer involved with the committee.

Good luck
Paul Robinson

Hi Caz,

Welcome to Liphook. As you (and him) both enjoy walking, have you thought about joining the Liphook and District Ramblers? You'll find contact details under the 'Community' heading then 'Clubs & Societies'.
