LIDBA
- Martin Loose (9th Jun 2008 - 08:37:27)

All

Would just like to post my appreciation of the way LIDBA was organised on Sunday. It was a fantastic day and shows just what a great community spirit we have in Liphook.
Many thanks to all those involved in orgainisation and running of a great event.

Brilliant - once again many thanks, the hard work and commitment of the lidba team ensured another great ride.

The following just in from LiDBA

First riders back (in an hour) -
1st - No 171 - Mark Taylor (Local Charities)
2nd - No 1206 - Jack Sutcliffe (Local Charities)
3rd - No 15 - Paul Smith (Friends of Liphook Junior School)

First Lady (1 hour 10 mins) - No 1365 Lisa Abrey (Local Charities)

The 2008 Ride was the biggest yet with 1,114 out on the 25 mile ride and 258 Juniors - ie 1,472 "bums on bikes" !!

All got back safely, only a couple of minor bumps and bruises.

Biggest team was Mill Chase Community School with 57 main ride entries and 4 juniors.

51 charities and causes entered teams.

Thanks as ever to everyone who helped us - Liphook Guides, Liphook Scouts, Petersfield ATC, St John Ambulance, and loads and loads of unnamed
individuals who turn out to help with marshalling the ride and generally helping it all run smoothly. Also all our sponsors - principally Owens Cycles.

What a wonderful sight, all those enjoying the day and raising money.

The only worry seemed to be how may youngsters were not wearing protective head gear!. Perhaps these were not entrants but hangers on?
