Radford Park - TVD (2nd Jul 2013 - 18:01:14) Does anyone know if there are plans to build a board-walk around the water meadows at Radford Park?

Re: Radford Park - H (3rd Jul 2013 - 19:25:27) It would be interesting to know what prompted your question? If someone is seriously proposing boardwalks in Radford Park I would be very surprised. What purpose would they serve? There are already plenty of footpaths around the park, so how would the cost be justified? Admittedly sometimes walking boots or wellies are required, but a few puddles and a bit of mud add to the natural charm of the park and are to be expected in a woodland environment with a river running through. If someone is suggesting that a board walk should be installed across some of the currently inaccessible 'wild' and boggy terrain, I would strongly oppose the idea. These areas should be left in their natural state to provide a habitat for the current profusion of flowers, trees, nesting birds, insects and mammals to live and flourish, away as far as possible from the interference of humans. I would hate to see Radford Park turned into a neatly manicured space where nature is tamed for our convenience.
