mystery of plants - Helen (5th Jun 2008 - 08:22:47)
what has happened to the tall plants that were in the flower bed opposite Sainsbury, have Liphook in Bloom removed them or have they been pinched??
Re: mystery of plants - Katy (6th Jun 2008 - 08:17:05)
Hi
Unfortunately someone seemed to take a shine to them - hope they look nice in their garden!
One had been returned so all is not lost....
The planting should be finished this weekend all being well so hope you all enjoy the new displays this year.
Looking forward to seeing all the shop window displays again during Liphook in Bloom week (7 - 13th July) and all the local entries. Entry forms can be obtained from the Parish Council Office, Midhurst Road or the current edition of the Community Mag. Don't forget there is a new category this year - best back garden. This should help to encourage all the new build/existing houses who only have a drive at the front of the house but lovely gardens at the back to enter.
Please join in the fun and enter - you never know you might win a prize!
Good luck and let's keep Liphook Blooming
Best wishes
Katy

How appalling for someone to steal plants after all the hard work you all do to make Liphook look lovely!!
I would say 'they' should be ashamed of themselves...but I don't suppose people like that would even know what it means :(

Dear Eneida
Thank you for your kind comments but please don't be sad. The odd plant that goes on holiday (and I must really stress they are very far and few) usually returns a few days later. You see they are all fitted with tracker devices and get quite lonely without their friends!
Hope you like the planting when we finish tomorrow and please encourage anyone you know with a lovely garden, hanging basket, tub etc to enter the local competition. It's always nice to have new entries for the judges to look at.
Kind regards
Katy
PS Good luck to all at LiDBA tomorrow - I shall give you a wave with my trowel as you cycle by.

***STOP PRESS***
All plants now returned! You see I told you those trackers worked :)
Re: mystery of plants - Helen (8th Jun 2008 - 15:57:20)
Thats good news will they or have they be going back in the flower bed where they belong.
Re: mystery of plants - Eneida (8th Jun 2008 - 17:11:00)
Gosh Katy!!!
You should market those 'trackers'....they could be used for all sorts of things that go walkies and you'd make a fortune:)
I'm delighted the plants are back!!

Yes nice to see the plants back as they were at 7.30pm last night but when i walked past again at 10.30pm some nasty person/people had pulled out the tall ones again and threw them to one side along with some of the bedding plants.
Re: mystery of plants - Katy (9th Jun 2008 - 16:05:50)
Dear Helen
Don't worry - all re-planted this morning!
I think these particular plant species are allergic to Liphook soil as they keep jumping out of the compost! If they carry on like this the may have to go in to quarantine until they can behave!
Hope you like the displays - my favourite is the post office bed but I've always liked pink flowers so slightly biased :)
Kind regards
Katy

I agree about the Post Office bed, I am lucky enough to drive past it several times a day (obviously driving at 30mph) so truly appreciate the vision of pink in all its glory. Fabulous!
