Moving to Liphook
- Denise Booysen (12th Jun 2013 - 14:32:50)

Afternoon All,
I'm looking to move to Liphook from Godalming and know nothing about the area (i'm originally a Londoner) - can you help please?
I know you'll be biased ;-) but what's the area like/ train links to London, schools (Year 3 onwards)/ people.... Tell me everything!!
Thank you so much!
Denise

Hi Denise, I know you will love it here. Before we get more people telling you the same, here are some previous threads on the matter of moving to Liphook.

I commute to London and now live in Liphook, having previously lived in Farncombe and Haslemere. Liphook is by far the friendliest place I have lived and has a great community feel. It has good schools, a supermarket, local groups and associations to cater for all interests. Location is ideal, particularly since the Hindhead tunnel opened. You can be on the coast in under 30 mins, in London in 60 mins, and the wonderful south downs is on your doorstep.

Although it hasn't been completed yet you'll find lots of information on Liphook in the Parish Plan at liphookplan.co.uk

The London bound trains take, typically, 20 mins and in one extreme case, 40 mins to reach Godalming so your arrival there will serve as a constant reminder of how much shorter your journey could have been.

Apart from that though, read the other threads and you'll see that it would be a good choice.

Hi Denise, come in and see our lovely Heritage Centre, upstairs in the Millennium Centre. There is a wealth of information about our village and it will give you a great insight into our community.
