Thanks Nikki
One of my sons takes part in the track days for motorcycles at Silverstone and would love to go to this event. Have applied for tickets and look forward to getting them soon.
Best wishes
Barry

Good stuff.
The Times or Telegraph did the same thing with Goodwood the other year, can't complain when they are free!

Nikki,
Apologies for the late reply for this. I applied for the tickets after you posted this link and went to Silverstone for the Sunday for this event with my family.
We had a great time, only took an hour and 3/4 from Liphook and thoroughly enjoyed the day.
For free entry, we had access to the back of the pit lanes to see the drivers and the set up for various races and versions (formula?) of motor sport. Other attractions, too many to mention, were excellent too.
I know the British GP is approaching fast, but I doubt many paying the extortianate prices to go to this and watch will have access to what we experienced on the Sunday we visited Silverstone.
Thanks and keep us posted for next year and other events. I would recommend it to anyone whether you have an interest in motor sport or not.

Thanks,
Far too much to do and see in 1 day. Seeing a formula 1 car go round the track at those speeds was something else wasn't it?! A real treat. The noise was deafening, even the Formula 3.5 and 2 cars. The weather held out too.
Can't wait for next year, we're planning on using the camping facilities and making a weekend of it. My lot had a great time even though they did complain about all the walking, it is so vast up there.
I do hope they keep the event free, I believe it's on around the same time every year so best thing to do is bookmark their website for next year :-).
Also ,for next year, (the track testing was last week for this years)you can get into the British Grand Prix formula 1 testing day for a little under 20 quid (children go free), not exactly the same as watching the race or even the qualifier but still not bad!
I was also impressed with the parking facilities, hardly any queues or waiting times, very well organised.
Glad I packed a picnic box, nearly fell over when I gave into the children and paid £4 for 2 sticks of candyfloss!
And my friend was happy- he got his picture taken with the Pit Lane Girls *rolls eyes*
