Sweet Peas - The story so far...
- Helen Hoff (19th May 2008 - 17:50:59)

Well...we began rebuilding a polytunnel in windy September and planting the seed in chilly October. Weekends were spent preparing the ground in freezing temperatures and then came the back-breaking job of planting out in March....but nothing has been more rewarding and worth all the blood, sweat and tears as we have just picked over 400 stems and they are only just getting started!!

So for all our regular (and new!) sweet pea lovers out there, just a quick post to let you know that our beautiful seasonal blooms will be on sale from 7.30am tomorrow morning (outside PRC on the London Road) and for many mornings to come...!

Oh Thank Goodness...I will be in just after 9.15a.m. and you had better have some left!! I know summer is just around the corner when I see your bright pink buckets outside the shop loaded with beautiful sweet peas.

Don't forget folks, they will also be available for everyone to buy on the Fun Day - 22nd June on the Village Green.

These guys are supplying us with their amazing sweet peas for my wedding on June 14th. We have just been given 'tester' bunches this weekend to see what vases they will look best in and I can't believe how beautiful, colourful and scented these sweet peas are! They are breathtaking - totally the impact we are after - even on this really gloomy bank holiday monday they totally cheer anyone up!
