Fun Day
- Karen Feeney (15th May 2008 - 13:36:42)
LIPHOOK CARNIVAL COMMITTEE
Dear All
We are in the throws of organising, what looks set to be, a fantastic fund raising day on 22nd June. I am appealing to you, the generous people of Liphook to see if any of you, or anyone you know, might be able to lend us some decent size marquees for the day. I have a band which I would like to put under cover and also various stalls and attractions that may require some shelter (either from rain or sun!!). You can contact me on 723971 or via this site. We would be very grateful for your help and would publicise your generosity in the process!!
Many thanks
Karen Feeney

Hi
Maybe a long shot but try contacting Bordon Garrison to see if they can help. I know in the past they have been happy to help me with a marquee when it is for a charitable purpose and they delivered, erected and removed it afterwards as it gives them practice. Sorry I haven't got the number but I am sure a few enquiries would find that out.
As I say it may be a longshot as they may not do that now but its worth a try.
Regards
Barry

Hi
Moodies don't have any marquees available due to June being a busy month for weddings! Thanks Dee, will try the scouts/guides and see if they can help us out.
Many thanks

When I was on the Carnival Committee many years ago we were greatly helped by the Army at 321 Regiment at Longmoor Camp with loans of tents, popes and other equipment. Can I suggest you make contact with the Commanding Officer. Good luck

So the Army can loan out popes!!!
That should certainly make the Fun Day quite unique ;)

Just in case anyone gets confused, the Fun Day is on the 22nd June 2008. I am saying this as, apparently, and I have yet to drive down and check this out, some helpful person has removed one of my 2's from the freshly erected signs (not even up 24 hours yet) and it now reads 2nd June. Don't you just love it...what jolly japers...
On a more positive note, the Fun Day is going to be FAB. Watch out for more posters, programmes and local press information in the coming weeks. Also, more details are available on this site.
We will be selling raffle tickets throughout the village from next week and in Sainsburys Foyer on Saturday 21st. The main prize is a week's free use of a Cornish Seaview Cottage, which has been very kindly donated by Liphook based Cornish Seaview Cottages. (www.cornishseaviewcottages.co.uk).
Really looking forward to seeing you all on the 22nd!

Dear All
Just to let you know that programmes for the Family Fun Day are now in circulation around the village (would just like to thank Helen at PRC for all of her hard work and generosity for producing them for us). You can pick one up from a number of places including the Parish Office, PRC, A3 Sports, Millennium Centre and Cafe 26.
This Fun Day is going to be fantastic as there is so much to do for all the family, please put the date in your diary and come along. I think you will be very very impressed!
Keep an eye on local press and this site for more details aswell.
Best regards
Karen Feeney

OK, two reasons for sticking this subject back to the top of the pile.
Firstly, it should be the only thing that the residents of Liphook are talking about at the moment!!!
And secondly, Nikki, I know you rang me and very kindly offered your help on Sunday (along with Barbara) but do you know what, I have filed your telephone number in such a safe place that now when I need it, I can't find it.....sorry! Forgive me for being so disorganised, but if you still want to come and help, we need it! Can you give me a call on 723971. That goes for anyone else reading this, if you can spare half an hour on Sunday to help run a stall, I would be very grateful.
See you all on Sunday.
Karen
