Carnival Quiz Night
- Karen Feeney (30th Apr 2008 - 11:47:09)
Dear All
Carnvial Committee Fund Raiser
Could really do with some more support for our Quiz Night which is next Friday (9th May) at the Millennium Hall. We have a super evening planned including a delicious meal courtesy of the guys at Cafe 26. The tickets cost £10 and tables can be made up of up to 6 players. We kick off at 7.30 p.m. and quiz on through until 11.00 p.m.
We really need your support at all of our fund raising events to reach the target needed for staging the Carnival, so head on down to any of the following outlets to buy your tickets.
Urban Home/Cafe 26
Inwood Stoves
Parish Office
Millennium Hall
Thank you and hope to see you next Friday!

Having just spoken to Karen who has been working like mad to get this event (and others) off the ground I was disappointed to learn that there hasn't been a great uptake of tickets for this event which seems a shame - obviously the more tickets sold, the better carnival we can all enjoy - so come on Liphook support this event which I am sure is going to be a good night and it's also for a good cause.

Why doesn't Liphook.co enter a team?
There must be lots of clever people reading this forum :D

Karen,
I've really tried, hon, but couldn't rustle up much interest. Really quite disappointed - was looking forward to being there - next year, maybe (when I know more people, or am not so shy at pressganging!!).
Good luck, everyone.

Well done to Karen and the Carnival Committee for a really good night last night. I hope it raised plenty of money for the Carnival Coffers. All concerned had clearly worked hard to make the night the success it was. Just a shame there weren't more people attending. However, there is still the Family Fun Day on 22nd June which should be just as good. The Carnival committee clearly put in huge amounts of unpaid hours so that Liphook can enjoy a really good event every year. I wonder if they get disheartened when the events they put on to pay for the carnival don't get the support they deserve.

Thank you Marian, the answer is Yes, I personally, do get a little downhearted when our events are not well supported! As you rightly said, the committee work very hard for the cause but I am glad that you and many others, enjoyed last night's festivities.
I wanted to thank Jon and Darren from No 26 for providing the most fantastic supper and for giving their time to help us on the night. Thank you guys! Will be in to catch up with you and for my usual de-caff early next week.
See you all at the Fun Day on 22nd June - we still need some help with stall minding if you think you spare some time. Karen 723971.
Thanks

Karen
I am pleased that quiz night had some degree of success and it is so important that events like this take place in support of such a marvelous carnival. It is, and quite rightly so, the best carnival in the area for miles around and is a credit to those that work so hard throughout the year. If my health improves at all over the next few months I would love to do something to help and to become more involved.I will give you a call at some stage if I am up to it.
Best wishes to you all.
Barry
