Swimming lessons
- Barbara (29th Apr 2008 - 20:11:43)
Does anyone know of any good local swimming instructors for children? We have two daughters - aged 4 and 18 months - and I'd like to get them back in the pool asap.
Ideally, I was wondering if anyone knows of any summer holiday intensive courses for our 4 year old, but ultimately any recommendations would be gratefully received.
(The instructor would have to have access to a pool - unfortunately, we don't have one ourselves. Ho hum!)
Thank you.

The Taro in Petersfield offered weekly swimming lessons with controlled progression through the various levels which was fine for my two. It used to be term time only but I have heard that this has now been extended to include school holidays.
I believe Brookham School in Liphook offers intensive swimming classes for children in the school holidays.

I live in Grayshott and have my own pool. I am a qualified A.S.A. swimming instructor with 30 year experience and teach throughout the year. I would be pleased to hear from you if I can help.

Very good swimming instructor for the ages you mention, works from Highfield School on a Tuesday (I think).
Our 2 go there, and are 2 - 6 years old if that helps.
Believe the instructor's name is Elaine, and she is highly recommended. Several other children around us attend also.

Hi there
I agree that Highfield School is excellent - they run term time lessons most nights and Saturday mornings, and they do one week intensive courses in the school holidays.

My 2 go to the lessons at Mill Chase. These now run all year long and my kids have thoroughly enjoyed it and progressed well. Lessons run in the week and at weekends they take from babies and progress up through the various ability levels.
