Amersham Horses

I know this is not about Liphook but I think it is something that should concern all of us. Of all the sick and terrified horses and donkeys rescued from an establishment in Amersham from amongst other dead and dying equines, a judge has ruled that 29 be returned to the owner and the remainder be auctioned for his benefit. The International League For the Protection of Horses, the RSPCA and Redwings horse sanctuary, all involved in the rescue, appear very shocked by the outcome which has much wider implications for anuimal welfare. We can only hope that the RSPCA are successful in their planned prosecutions for cruelty.

The horses and donkeys will now be allowed to stay with their rescuers at least until the result of an RSPCA appeal.
