Bobby Davro+Chris Spencer Sunday April 18 - Freddie Dawkins (31st Mar 2004 - 10:40:22) TV star and impressionist Bobby Davro is coming to Liphook. Bobby's booked to appear at the Millennium Centre on Sunday April 18 at 8pm. Local man Chris Spencer, an ace soul and rock n roll singer, will be supporting Bobby. The tickets are £11, all unreserved seating, and are available from the Millennium Centre (01428 723889) or the Parish Office (01428 722988). There will be a full bar before the show and during the interval break. Chris is currently supporting Bobby on his national tour and is delighted to be appearing locally. Remember that Julie Felix was a complete sell-out and we had to disappoint quite a few people, so please buy your tickets early. See you there. Freddie Dawkins

Considering I didn't print them until Sunday night, I am amazed at just how much of a local fan base he has. You'll see boards outside my house (as of 5 minutes ago) and the other roadside boards and big board up at the Millennium Centre itself, should be up this afternon or tomorrow morning. Thanks to all the shops who have put posters up for us. I really hope we can sell out, as we did with Julie Felix, because we want to bring more entertainment into Liphook and really make use of the Centre. It's for all of us to use and enjoy. I've had a chat with Bobby Davro's agent, who tells me that he's on fine form on his current UK tour and playing to capacity audiences wherever he goes. Chris Spencer will be supporting Bobby. As Chris lives here in Liphook, I'm pleased he can open the show. Chris is a really good soul and rock n roll singer, and has worked with Bobby quite a bit around the country. I've deliberately kept the ticket prices down to £11. That's at least £2 less than anywhere else Bobby is appearing this Spring. I reckon, for a 2.5 hour show, £11 is pretty good value. The new bar staff and caterers will be working, so this is something of a relaunch for the entertainment side of the Centre. So, instead of trekking up to London or down to Southampton...to see a live show, why not buy some tickets and help to develop the Centre as a local entertainment place. rgds to all here Freddie

Absolutely great coverage and the phone's been ringing off the hook at the Centre with ticket requests. Just to let everyone here know, if you haven't bought a ticket yet, that the Centre and Parish Office are closed Saturday for ticket sales. If you want a ticket in advance, give me a call on 07769 665 963 and I'll drop them in to you - or you could come along on Sunday evening at 7.15 when the doors open - but we can't guarantee there will be any tickets left. GALES have just delivered and installed the new beers for the bar, which will be open from 7.15pm Sunday; Angela Williams and her team will be taking interval orders before the show starts.
