Links Tavern
- Sue (6th May 2013 - 16:13:29)

Went to the Links on Saturday lunch time with our dog. We were made to feel extremely welcomed.. Very nice people, decided to go back in the evening for a meal. Made even more welcomed. Food excellent,, friendly staff and no compulsary 12.5% service charge unlike the Deers Hut.

I agree, The Links get my vote. I had wondered if, after the recent improvements, the friendly country pub atmosphere would have disappeared but not at all. I rang up and was told that dogs were welcome and when I got there, I saw a notice that said muddy boots were also ok. That's the sign of a good pub in my book. And I also found the staff were friendly and cheerful and gave good service.

Monday evening (bank holiday) was fabulous.

The sun was shining and almost everyone was outside in the garden where the delicious aromas from the BBQ were irresistible.

Best of all was the band RIVEN who were fantastic. I understand that they stepped in with less than 24 hour's notice after the original band could not appear. One of the guitarists and the bass player live in Liphook but the other three had to travel from afar, so credit to them.

The band were excellent and played great music. There was a party atmosphere with people of all ages singing and dancing their socks off, (literally in one case, as a man kicked off his flip flops and danced barefoot.) The landlord came out to take a photo as he said it was the most people dancing he had ever seen at the pub.

Brilliant evening, hope it will be repeated sometime soon.

This is a FAB pub, nothing is to much trouble for them. Children are also very welcome along with dogs. You can also take your husbands there to! ;-)

Please keep up the good work
