Tunbridge Lane

Once again the prunus trees are flowering on Tunbridge Lane beyond Coopers Bridge Farm as they have done for years - always one of the first signs of spring.
Now I learn that the recent paint marks on these trees means that they are to be felled. Not pruned or cut back but completely cut down. I know they are near the edge of the road - but what is the plan - to cut down every small tree bordering our lanes?
