Estate Agents in Liphook
- Anon (1st May 2013 - 13:09:35)

Hi ,

We are selling our house and I would like to hear people's opinions on local estate Agents in Liphook in terms of the ability to market and sell houses and not just make promises that they cant keep.

Any advice or feedback would be hugely appreciated.

I sold my house in Liphook a couple of years ago through Clarke Gammon Wellers. They gave me a realistic valuation and were very professional, willing to negotiate on fees and got me a buyer with 2-3 weeks.

I have bought 2 houses through Keats in the past and also found them very good.

Can definitely recommend Keats. Avoid Kelway Law if you can.

I can recommend Keats, I brought my present home through them.

Keats - in my experience, were almost as bad as Kelway Law. We ARE talking estate agents.... Best of luck I'd say! ;)

I have heard good things about Keats but also some negative comments that they have an extremely casual attitiude and that they dont do all that much once you have agreed to let them market and sell your house. I have heard that Hamptons can be a bit aggresive and some aweful stuff about Kelway Law as well.

It does sound like a case of picking the best from what we have in the village.

We bought through Hamptons they were great. We tried to buy through Kelway and we weren't impressed with their attitude or customer service, I'm sure that's not everybody who works there but the few we dealt with weren't great!

Personally I'd rate them as follows:

1: Hamptons
=2: Keats and Clarke Gammon Weller

10: Kelway Law.

Enough said.

We bought and sold through Kelway Law a few weeks ago. They were fine. We had viewings and offers and had agreed a sale within 2 weeks of putting the house on the market. Difficult to say if this was due to anything the agent did or didn't do.

We dealt with Franco and I'd recommend him highly.

I purchased my house through Hamptons, they were brilliant, they helped me sort out something to do with my purchase (can't remember what it was now), even though they were representing their client, not me. If I ever move, I will use them.

We bought our house through Keats and have to say Tom was excellent!

Hamptons are good if you\'ve a posh and expensive house to sell. If not, they\'ll undervalue your property significantly so that they can shift it with minimum effort on their part. Clarke Gammon Wellers were brilliant with our recent-ish sale, and very helpful and professional. You should anyway approach at least two or three agents for valuations if you want to have a reasonable idea what price you should be looking for.

Ask them all round and see who you feel you "gel" with and can trust. After all, they will be showing people round your home and you need to feel they are on your side.

Same with solicitors - speak to them and see who you like. Cheapest is not necessarily the best.

I've worked with Tom at Keats in a professional capacity and always found him to be helpful. I also instructed Kelway Law in connection with the sale of our house a few years back and they did a good job for us - but of course, personnel do change.

Good luck!

I would recommend Jason and Perry Leete of Peter Leete, Grayshott. They marketed my house and found a very good purchaser last year. I had a property in Liphook but with their web site and local knowledge i found a commited purchaser and completed my sale in December. I would recommend them unhesitatingly.

We sold through Clarke Gammon. Their valuation was spot on, they got us the price we wanted and the second person who saw it took it.

Peter Leete and Partners in Grayshott- great personal service, local, long-standing family business. Best of luck!
