earth tremor
- tracey hancock (27th Feb 2008 - 08:56:26)

Did anyone else in Liphook feel the tremor last night? I did very distinctly. I woke with a feeling that the whole room was moving in one direction - most bizarre. I got up to check whether the house was being stolen !! It is only now really sinking in what actually happened. No one else in our house felt it, so did any of you out there?

well im unsure, we were woken by a faint rumbling sound and assumed it was the army on an excercise, wasn't until we listened to the radio this morning that we heard about the earthquake.

That's interesting...we were woken up about 1.30ish by both cats suddenly jumping on the bed!!!

Perhaps they felt it....they say animals sense these things don't they...

Yes! Woke up to the whole bed shaking, and some flat-packed wardrobes which are leaning against the wall were creaking. I thought it was a rat or a fox under the bed! Then I thought it best not to disturb hubby cos he'd probably think the house had started to subside and he'd be out with his torch to see if we'd got any cracks!

Glad someone else felt it, though. Looked at the clock and it said 01.01.

Oh good, so I'm not alone in the experience or going barmy. It's very humbling to directly feel that the earth has the power to move like that - quite scary in fact.

What I found weird also was that this morning it was as if nothing had happened - no signs at all, here at least. At least after the great storm you could see that something had happened.
