cat deterrent
- (24th Apr 2013 - 21:35:47)

Does anyone have any ideas how to discourage cats from coming into my garden? My dog chased one today and the outcome would have been tragic if she had caught it. It escaped by millimetres. It was back later so obviously not bright!

Sorry I do not have any suggestions.........
I do hope somebody does because we have at least half a dozen unwanted visitors on a regular basis.........

i had a few problems with puss cats using my front garden as a litter tray for a while so i put down some hot chilli pepper and it has now stopped.
i did not want to hurt them as i am a cat fan but dont like them using my garden for business!!
most of my neighbours cats are not scared of my british bulldog though which i find amusing!!

When we had trouble with a cat coming into our garden bullying our own cats, our vet suggested we shoot it with a water pistol to let it know it wasn't welcome.

Unfortunately this particular cat was very persistent (but has since moved away) but it might work for you?

I am sure they will have water pistols in the 99p shop in Petersfield.

I will try the water pistol as my dog and hot chilli may not mix :)
