£6.50 per hour. Isn't that below the legal minimum wage?

For some strange reason I find Nadine's review far more convincing than yours!

I had the same troube as Robin :( the starter was lovely, as was the side, however the mains (chicken tikka masala and chicken korma) weren't great. I was really disappointed as the starters had been devine. The chicken was stringy and the sauces tasted as if they had little bits in, not creamy as they should have been. It was their opening night however so will give them the benefit of the doubt. The staff were brilliant, so helpful and cheerful! I will leave it a while and maybe try again. Would love to get indian takeaway from Liphook and support local businesses!!

Once again I find Robin's comments incomprehensible - perhaps its his typing! I made no comment on the food, just the relative standards of the reviews.
For the record we had a takeaway from the Madhuban 2. Lamb with spinach, Madhuban special lamb curry and aloo saag. The food was delicious and I can thoroughly recommend it.

I never fail to be amused by the typos in some posts!

To be fair Liz, your English is not perfect either. You missed out the apostrophe in "its" - it should be "it's" in this instance.

How ridiculous, adults picking adults for typo/gramma etc, get a life. Not everyone is perfect to the point they could be an editor! Keep to discussion and stop making an everyday mistake an issue. It is a big bore. I have never heard such playground nonsenese in adulthood. Feel free to pick out my mistakes but i would only salute you! We wonder why our kids have such a hard time relating to others? Its stuck up idiocy like this.
PLEASE no more degradation of gramma arithmatic etc etc etc.
Good weekend All!!!

Has anyone noticed the upstairs windows on the Headley road side of the building. The glass is all broken and there are some bits of glass hanging out ready to drop onto the pavement below. - or onto someone's head!!

Andy and lily
My typing is hopeless and I fully own up to that. - But hopefully what I say is reasonably clear. A reasonable standard is important otherwise people have no idea what you are talking about. Good to avoid "get a life" cliches as well!

Jesus! some people are complete TROLLS!!!! have you ever thought that maybe, just MAYBE some people have Dyslexia?? or other issues with regaurds to reading/writing?! Not everyone has editorial standard spelling and grammer!!! and to be perfectly honest, some of the articles i read online are some of the worst!!! Seriously. GROWN ADULTS NIT PICKING AT EACH OTHERS SPELLING/GRAMMER IS BEYOND PATHETIC!! and it certainly doesnt mean they are incapable of giving their OWN PERSONAL OPINION (!!!) of something!!!!!!

Re: Madhuban 2 Go
- liz (29th Apr 2013 - 14:19:48)
Shell
It is not nit picking on the finer points of grammar. I just did not understand "The ctm was mirr like a water dish. The ck was the same". The other review was far clearer.

Re: Madhuban 2 Go
- Andy (29th Apr 2013 - 15:26:57)
Just to clarify - I felt Liz was being hypocritical in her post criticising another poster and, given her grammer and spelling are not perfect, I decided to point that out. Good grammer and spelling are extremely important in life but I would not dream of picking someone up on their mistakes for some of the reasons Shell has already mentioned - you don't know the person on the other end of the keyboard. If you really must pick someone up on their mistakes, then I think you need to be pretty confident in your own accuracy before you do so.
This thread has now been well and truly derailed!

Some people are making mountains out of molehills. I merely pointed out that I didn't understand most of the review - and still don't. It's everyone else that has taken off on this grammar thing - which is ridiculous.

- simone (30th Apr 2013 - 23:18:25)
What a shame that the lady that innocently put an ad on here for delivery drivers for the madhuban has totally had the thread taken over about grammar etc. If you all want to argue and be petty could you not make your own thread and not take over other peoples. Looking back at other threads on the liphook talkback it always seems to be the same people arguing! I think its very sad. Im sure she wishes she hadnt even bothered to advertise!

Re: Madhuban 2 Go
- tony (1st May 2013 - 09:03:49)
Back to the point.
1) If Sue does not work for the restaurant why is she recruiting drivers? so doesn't that make her an agent?
2) If the pay is £6.50 an hour then you are an EMPLOYEE and your fuel/insurance and mileage allowance should be reimbursed by the company(according to law) They are also legally liable for your tax and NI.
If they are saying you are self employed (which a lot of take aways try), you are NOT. But if you were, you would be responsible for your business insurance use(or else be uninsured and breaking the law) and your own tax/NI, tax returns etc. The revenue often does investigate these places so don't get caught out.
3) Why does that building always look so shabby, it is an eyesore really. I wouldn't eat somewhere that can't maintain their property.
Please feel free to correct me on any of this if I am wrong. I'm sure you will!

I think 'ctm' meant chicken tikka masala,I also understood that 'ck' was most probably chiken korma! It really isnt rocket science!

Re: Madhuban 2 Go
- Finchie (7th May 2013 - 00:49:03)
First try on Friday. Only negative was I tried to phone for an hour from the pub (the Links in case anyone is interested !). It was peak time (6 to 7pm). Gave up phoning, so dropped in. Promised it would be ready in 40 minutes, so went to Sainsburies to earn some much needed brownie points. Returned 20 minutes later (well don't want to get too many brownie points at once) and get this - the order was ready early. Now that has never happened to me in *cough* years of takeaways.
I'd suggest a couple of Sun newspapers, as the free paper was a bit dull.
Turning up in person was useful, as the phone rung as soon as it was put down. I'm sure this won't change for a few months.
The kids had a Korma. A Korma is a Korma, hard to get wrong, but the chicken was tender, so very good. For those interested, I had some healthy home cooking, as my body is currently a temple (ok, a large temple but still a temple).
Great takeaway boxes ! Suggestions on a postcard, as I'm sure there must be a use for those boxes. Starter for 10... They're about the size of a breeze block, so paint them red and build Millenium Hall number 2 at the old OSU site for exclusive use by FabuLiss (whatever happened to them).
I did feel like I was cheating on Shah from the Village Tandori (in the same way I feel like I'm cheating on Ben when I drink at the Links Tavern or Deers Hut!!), so I hope there is enough business for all to be successful.
Happy, sunny, Bank Holiday ! Cheers, Finchie

Just come through the village and noticed that the side of the building is being painted the windows have been mended and it looks good. Not bad going for the amount of time they have been there. How long were the others there and did nothing? Well done Madhuban.Have had excellant food and service for years at Liss so will be trying this Take Away soon
