Rubbish thrown onto Longmmor Road
- Diane (12th Apr 2013 - 08:28:21)

When I drove onto Longmoor Road from A3 Griggs Green turn off, I was horrified to witness a passenger, in the car in front, throw rubbish out onto the grass verge!

Why are so many reckless people doing this? I have lived in Griggs Green for 20 years and never seen so much rubbish being dumped on the grass verges on both sides on Longmoor Road near A3.

Who do I complain to? Strangely, there is rarely any rubbish on grass verges approaching the turn off to Deers Hut and Old Thorns!

I agree - this problem is getting increasingly bad. Take the registration number and report them to the police. It's not just Longmoor Road, it's all down the A3 itself and the Old Portsmouth Road.

If it were down to me, anyone seen caught littering would be given a £200 fine.

A great deal of rubbish gets thrown on the grass verge opposite my house on the Headley Road too.

If I lived on that side of the road, I'd clear it up myself, but I don't like to intrude on other people's territory...

To Diane
If you've the registration number report them to the Police and/or EHDC. The more people that do that the more likely action would be taken,

To Edeida
I wouldn't worry about encroaching on other peoples territory, if they can't be bothered to clear up their own property then, if you're happy to, get over there and pick it up for them.

To everyone else
Join in with the Village Litter pick next Sunday 28th April. If you can't get to the official group then just get out and clean all your boundaries of litter and overgrown weeds etc and if you can help by doing your own street all the better. The more people that do the better Liphook will look.

Litter breeds Litter, if people see it then they have no problems adding to it, where as if somewhere is clean and tidy then it's more likely to stay that way..........hopefully.
