Hi

My next door neighbour does windows and doors, timber only, bespoke and extremely talented at about 70% cost of other competitors. Contact me at ellenpalmer6@hotmail.com and I will give you his phone number.

Try Grovewood in Liss. Great after sales service and prompt. Also competitively priced.

Hi there
Can speak from recent experience and say that the best are Everest and Anglian.
Everest are more pricey because Anglian are more negotiable - they both start horrendously high and get gradually lower the longer you stick to your guns!

Sales tactics are quite pressured in this industry so beware - have someone with you for the appointment (especially Anglian).

If you are blown away by the prices - the cheapest in town are 'AtCost windows'. Lower quality mind you - but needs must sometimes.

Wooden frames off the shelf - premdoor are ok but hardwood is always going to be more expensive than soft - soft needs annual attention - last quote for hardwood came in more than UPVC!

Good luck

Atcost are cheap and we had some of their windows put in a few years ago - couldn't see that you were getting much more for higher prices elsewhere. Fitting was carried out quickly and efficiently and they left no mess. The windows show no signs of wear so far. Can thoroughly recommend them if you are happy with UPVC.

I fully support Dawns opinions - we have had Everest windows and opted for Anglian in our recent house. You MUST badger them down on price - found the fitters excellent. BUT i would seriously consider Atcost next time - being local (Passfield), fairly priced and if you didnt already know they make a lot of frames for other companies and builders.

I wouldn't touch Anglian with a bargepole. We has a conservatory built by them a few years back and the after-sales service was truly shocking.

Call Csaba, pronounced 'Shaba' on 07875246347 if you want timber, personal service at competitive prices.

He is my neighbour and I highly recommend him

Agree about Anglian after sales, have experienced the same. I have also experienced the same with a number of other suppliers.

I don't think that that should necessarily detract when choosing specifically for the quality of the product though?

It seems to be a nationwide problem these days (poor quality of after sales).

Mike,

Couldn't possibly comment on Anglian after sales - they did an excellent job we never had to contact them again. We did have a follow up call from them.

Perhaps we were just lucky?

We have had Anglian windows in the past at our last house so decided to go with them again. It has been a four year nightmare to get panes that were fitted with scratches on the inside replaced. They came four times to replace one window and that arrived scratched. In the end I just couldn't keep wasting time waiting for them to come. When I spoke to their after sales team he basically said that even after their four failed attempts to get it right, it was my fault that I didn't have what I wanted (just correctly fitting unscratched windows) because I didn't let them come back a fifth time. Apalling after sales and again I wouldn't go near them again if you paid me. Too much hassle. I also found that they kept changing their after sales service so when you rang up you kept having to repeat the same story over again. To add insult to injury they kept ringing me to see if I was happy with my windows but when I said I wasn't they said it wasn't their department and would have get someone else to call me back!!!! I think if I needed anything again I would go to a local firm.

I used Total Profiles at Bordon about 5 years ago, no pressure selling, excellent quality and price and work carried out swiftly with no fuss. Recently needed to call them to adjust some window handles, they called round within a few days and quickly put them right with no fuss and no charge. Also, you can visit their premises at Bordon to view the goods and I believe they use their own fitting staff and do not sub-contract this out.

Blimey
looks like Anglian have been upsetting lots of people!!

Maybe someone should send one of the directors a link to this site!!

If their reputation is as bad as it appears to be - then perhaps it is best to avoid them afterall?

It is a shame as they used to be a very good company, I expect it has been taken over by 'profits before people'
management!

Hi Huw,
Just had 4 large windows fitted by Nulook. He is local, just started up on his own, is inexpensive (not cheapo, though), speedy and leaves no mess. Have not got his no. to hand but he advertises in the local press.

Allan
