South West Trains Pricing Fiasco!
- Dawn Hoskins (25th Jan 2008 - 11:17:50)

I have some god news for Liphook SWT users!!

SWT have messed up their pricing plan this year. It is now much cheaper if you purchase your tickets asking for them to be issued from BORDON.

The good news is - not only is the ticket price cheaper - particularly for peak rail users like me, also you don't have to pay for the car park because the price of the bus is included!!

Can therefore park for free, get the bus for free and pay less for the ticket!!

Also, Godalming and Guildford have been messed up - tickets to Guildford being cheaper that Goldalming even though it is further away!! So remember to get a ticket to guildford and just get off a stop early......

Although you do have to wait around in the freezing cold for the bus which doesn't run in time with any of the trains!

It only goes once per hour. It only does a circular route so to get to Liphook you have to go all around whitehill and Bordon first - takes about 50 minutes.

Driver will not let you onto the warm bus to wait and there are no heated waiting rooms even when the station is open!

On second thoughts.....I'll pay for parking!

Have also found out that it is cheaper to get a ticket to Guildford than Godalming (which is closer).

I know that a lot of students get on at Liphook to go to college at Godalming. I also know that the ticket man will always give them what they ask for......not always telling them that there is a cheaper way.

(Not including Dave)

So, please tell all students to buy a ticket to Guildford and just get off one stop early.

Dawn
