Parish Plan - Progress Report
- Trevor Maroney (7th Apr 2013 - 11:03:15)
The Steering Group would like to update you on the Parish Plan. You will find a Progress Report on the News page of our website at www.liphookplan.co.uk. This contains the index (layout) and the completed sections. The adjacent Reports page contains information on the remaining sections which, in some cases, require further updates and editing.
We think you will find the work we have done quite interesting and certainly informative. Indeed our collective knowledge of parish life has increased considerably during the last 6 months. For example under Demographics we have extracted and compared data on the parish from the Censuses covering the last 20 years. It’s amazing how the population has grown, along with the rise in housing and car ownership. With EHDC’s Joint Core Strategy on future housing currently under review these growth figures are set to rise still further. We even asked the youngsters what they thought last summer in a large youth survey; 914 responded, we think you will find their answers most revealing.
We are now seeking your views on what we have achieved so far. If you would please read through those sections of the plan that interest you and drop us a line to the address shown at the bottom of each page it would be greatly appreciated. We would ask you to please keep your suggestions positive and constructive. If you think we have got it wrong, please tell us where and how, and suggest alternative solutions.
Finally, we would like to thank all of you who have kindly given us your free time, advice, suggestions and encouragement over the last 2 years. It has been a long hard road with the end almost in sight. However, we would not have got this far without your help. Thank you.

Thanks Trevor to you and the team for all the hard work that you have put into this. A very thorough report! The discouragement of through traffic is a very important development and should be pushed firmly as it is a key detractor from the quality of life in Liphook.
Can you please advise what this land is? Is it the land already designated such as Silent Garden etc.?
Land south of the A3 Liphook
12.06 Ha in area
Potential for 482 dwellings
Well related to the settlement Landowner submission

The land alongside the A3 is one of the parcels of land identified by EHDC as suitable for housing. This information is available on the District Council's website and is therefore in the public domain. EHDC is required by law to have a continuing supply of land for housing. This particular parcel is not the same as Silent Garden or Lowsley Farm as they had slightly different status.
The Parish Plan seeks to provide parishioners with the facts of what the parish has at the present. It includes taking account of the varying needs of all the residents. It is aware that housing and development may be one of the main concerns. Housing numbers for Liphook will come from EHDC via the Joint Core Strategy, not from a Parish Plan. EHDC is in the process of updating the JCS as required by the government inspector, but at present Liphook has more or less fulfilled its quota of 600 houses.

We would like to bring you up to date on the Parish Plan. We are currently reviewing the following draft sections on:
1. Elderly, Disabled and Medical.
2. Sports & Leisure Facilities.
3. Communications.
4. Business.
You will find the latest drafts of these sections near the bottom of the Reports page at www.liphookplan.co.uk. It would be extremely helpful if you could give us your views on these topics. Have we got it right, is there anything missing?
The Steering Group are looking for more volunteers to help with further research on:
1. Businesses.
2. Education.
3. Social & Welfare.
4. Societies & Clubs
5. Unemployment.
If you have knowledge & experience in any of these areas and the time available to assist we would like to hear from you.

A link has been added to the Bramshott & Liphook Parish Plan website to highlight a submission made by the Parish Council to EHDC commenting on future housing in the Parish. It is hoped that the updated Joint Core Strategy will ultimately incorporate all of these proposed modifications.
If you would like to add your thoughts your Parish Plan Steering Group would certainly like to hear from you. You may do so via this posting or direct to our website at www.liphookplan.co.uk.
