Squash at Bohunt
- Neil (5th Apr 2013 - 17:40:37)

I felt compelled to share my recent experience with the Squash courts at Bohunt School. The price per session (peak) has been significantly increased to £8 for 40 minutes. This is extremely expensive; there are courts in central London cheaper than that! It's actually cheaper to drive to the Herons in Haslemere to play squash, who have far superior facilities.

This is really disappointing, as I feel Liphook (and the schools in particular) should be promoting sports by making them affordable to all. The other facilities at Bohunt (sports hall, astro turf etc) are also very overpriced. For a peak session, the astro turf is over £65 for an hour!

To make things worse, the few times I've played there over the past few weeks have ALWAYS been empty. Why not drop the price, and encourage an active lifestyle in Liphook?

Your thoughts are appreciated!

This is really sad to hear :-(

I can only assume this is to help pay for the coordinator that sits in the office in the evenings? I don't know...

Hi Neil

The squash is not the only overpriced facility available at Bohunt the gym is over £30 a month and there are at least 50% of the machines with stickers on asking you not to use them for safety reasons. I am on the astro 3 times a week with various clubs and seeing as it is split up into quarters you would expect 8 good goals, but no barely half even have nets on and dont get me started on whoever cut the grass pitches but couldnt be bothered to move the goal nets and just mowed over them..Brilliant !!!!

I use the gym on a regular basis and have many times complained about the state of the equipment but all you get back from anyone at Bohunt school is "if you dont like it go somewhere else".

so good luck with trying to get anything out of anyone.

M

Picking up on this old thread...is anyone interested in playing squash regularly at Bohunt, preferably at the weekend? If enough people are interested we could set up a round-robin league table. I play to a reasonable standard.
