Ridiculous
- nikki (9th Jan 2008 - 12:00:52)

What is the point of Post Office LTD applying a "public consultation" process to their proposed closure scheme?.

Out of 50 odd proposed closures in Kent I believe, only 1 was over turned. It will be interesting to see the overall statistics of successful appeals v closures.

As far as im concerned, the public consultation period just pro-longs the agony for these Business' .

Totally dismayed we are losing Passfield Post Office, but knowing how determined Sue & Jon are, we look forward to seeing new and positive changes in the shop and I wish them every success.

Hi Nikki,
I too am awaiting eagerly to see what direction Sue and John will take re: stock.

Selling goods that we can buy cheaper in the supermarket is never going to be a winner - but if they started selling fresh local produce that we can't get elsewhere then I would be in there spending money straight away.

The problem is going to be competing with the Big S prices I fear!

I'm sure there are a lot of local farmers that would appreciate an outlet - maybe a reccie down to Petersfield farmers market would prove useful for contacts?
