Rubbish!!
- Eneida Nelson (7th Jan 2008 - 19:04:22)

Ok....I managed to work out EHDC's seasonal brain teaser and I got it right without looking at the answer!!! i.e. Headley Road was Colour Purple/Calendar No.1.....great fun and of course, this sort of thing is good for keeping the little grey cells working :D

However, I'm totally stumped by finding a grey, plastic sack on my doorstep this morning....can anybody give me any clues??

I've looked at their web-site, but couldn't see anything about it.....so I don't know if I'm supposed to put something in it or if it's just the 'normal' sort of 'rubbish' that ends up in my front garden everyday.

Interesting .... because we'd worked out that the Headley Road was Calendar number 4! That seems to work, despite the fact that what's printed in the Partners magazine is entirely different from what's on the EHDC website - another little festive puzzle from our friends at Penns Place.

LOL Rob!!!

The Plot thickens....according to my calculations and conclusion that I was Purple Calendar No.1....I put out the Reclycling bin + Glass and Garden Sack, as that was what was shown for w/c 7 Jan, and it all disappeared...so I assumed I'd got it right!!

The Red Calendar No.4 I've got said w/c 7 Jan was just Green Refuse bin....so, if you're the Mr. Rob Wright I think you are, that's very peculiar indeed.....

Anybody know about this Grey Plastic Sack? It has an official look about it....

Could it be for extra rubbish that won't fit into the bins?

Aha! The collection on Monday (which included glass - in our case an embarrassingly large number of bottles) was, according to the holiday timetable, actually last Friday's collection. Which is consistent with timetable number 4.

Next Friday's collection (grey bins) will, according to the holiday timetable, actually happen on Saturday. After that we'll be back to normal. Until Easter.

I think.

Sorry. My reference to this Friday's Calendar 4 collection (which will happen of course on Saturday) should have been to the green bins, not the grey ones. Green of course being the non-recycling bins. Of course.

Don't worry Rob...I guessed that 'grey' meant 'green'!!!

Actually my Purple Calendar No.1 also says green bin next...I wonder how many other people in Liphook are confused by all this :D:D

Dear all

I am very confused about what is being collected on what days, I just rely on my husband launching himself out of bed, grabbing the nearest piece of clothing and then throwing himself downstairs to get to our bin (whichever one it might be) before the collection lorry passes by. I then hear him utter the words 'cheers mate' as he crawls back upstairs and then shows me the 4 inch gash he sustained to his chest as he caught himself on the stair newel post as he flew past it - ouch.....I did try very hard not to laugh tee hee hee

Happy New Year.

I am to understand that whatever day you have gotten used to for the last 2 weeks - it will now be coming the day before - just to fox you!!

[editor - not sure this is true, it is currently one day late, and expected to be back 'on time' next week, I believe]
