Liphook Youth Club
- Jane Ives (28th Mar 2013 - 11:23:28)
Liphook Youth Club is desperately in need of some new committee members. The current committee have worked very hard over the last few years to get the youth club established and it is now time for some of them to stand down. We are looking for people that represent the community of Liphook in any way, shape or form. I am involved as a co-opted Committee member as the Parish Council supports the youth club by providing a meeting place, the Millennium Hall.
The committee only meets 4 times a year and in particular needs a new secretary and possibly a treasurer, as well as other committee members. None of these tasks is very onerous. The duties of the committee are to safeguard the interests of youth club members by providing premises, staff, finances and procedures. All we ask is that you have a keen interest in all things youth, and if you come with experience that would be an added bonus!
The youth club is open to all young people between the ages of 12 and 16 who live or attend school in Bramshott and Liphook. We are very fortunate to have an experienced youth worker supervising the evening sessions on a Monday, but if you are interested in helping out here you would be most welcome.
Please drop me an email in the first instance at jives68@gmail.com
Many thanks
Jane Ives

I wanted to bump this one back up again as the Youth Club AGM takes place tomorrow evening at 7pm. If anyone is interested in joining the committee, or who just wants to come along to see what happens, then the meeting is a public one. It is taking place at the Millennium Centre.
If you have secondary school age children who are bored on a Monday evening, then do encourage them to go along to the youth club. It takes place at the Millennium Hall every Monday from 6.30-8.30pm. The youth workers who run it are fantastic and there is lots going on. Now the weather is better football etc can be played out on the green.

Hi,
My son is interested in coming along on a Monday, but is a little apprehensive about coming along alone! As most of his friends live in Liss etc they wouldn't be able to join him, so naturally he would feel a tad intimidated. Would he receive a welcome by the others if he were to turn up alone? Is it a very easy going group?
It would be great to hear some feedback from other parents and/or youths.Thank you.

Richard
Do you want to drop me an email at jives68@gmail.com and I can put you in touch with Becka who runs the group?
