Charity Food & Beer Night at The Links
- Laura Thacker (30th Dec 2007 - 13:00:54)
Dear All,
Hope you are all well and have had a wonderful Christmas.. It’s been great meeting and seeing new faces in the pub.
I wanted to let you all know about a charity event that we are holding on Thursday 17th January at The Links. Something to help you get through a very slow month...
The event is a Charity Food & Beer Night with a twist in aid of the Rosemary Foundation who are based in Peterfield. This foundation helps to support local people and their families with life-threatening conditions.
We will be serving an Eight Course Taster Menu matched with Eight Fullers Beers to compliment the dishes tutored by Fuller's very own Brewing Manager
Now the twist, my staff will be given the night off to enjoy the fun and the pub for one night only will be fully staffed by a team from our Head Office i.e. area managers, trainers, auditors etc...
The tickets are only £16 and there will only 60 spaces available, which must be booking before the event.
The fun starts at 7.30pm and will finish around 9.30, as it’s a school night.
Should you have any questions or simply wish to book then please call myself or a member of my team on 01428 723773.
Have a great New Years Eve and see you all soon.
Yours Sincerely
Laura Thacker

Dawn,
Do you usually take your children to Beer tasting do's in the evenings....I don't really care if you do, each to their own I suppose....just curious really!

Ha ha
No, but we do regularly eat out in pups and restaurants etc. and it was the 8 course menu that they were interested in and not the beer. I don't think this is being hailed as a beer tasing event?
I also don’t drink alcohol but this does not ever prevent me from entering institutions which serve it. In this instance we are interested in both the choice of menu and raising money for a great local charity.
I was only asking.......

I can report thata FABULOUS night was had by all.
Over 100 people came, the food was to die for, all EIGHT courses! Food supplies were donated by excellent local suppliers.
I don't drink, but my Husband assures me that the 10 different beers (different ones served with each course - plus extras!) were great.
We sat opposite a lady from 'The Messenger' so I expect there will be a write up next week!
A wonderful night - thank you to all of those who worked their socks off behind the scenes.
