Liphook Scouts Christmas Post - Grahame Polley (18th Dec 2007 - 11:06:47) You may be pleased to know that Liphook Scouts delivered 2785 Christmas cards this year as part of their Christmas postal service. I would like to thank those shops that displayed our posters and especially those that hosted our post boxes, also Delta Radio for advertising our service during the two weeks. A special thanks to Gables News for selling the stamps for us. Grahame

It is good value and at the same time nice to know that using the service is beneficial for the Scout funds too. There is always plenty of discussion in the national and local media about young people causing a nuisance or getting involved in crime, but when youngsters quietly go around being constructive and helpful as the Beavers, Cubs and Scouts do in this case, it doesn't make the headlines, and we don't always remember to express our appreciation. However the number of people who use the Scout Post proves that Liphook does appreciate you. I assume there must be a lot of hard work and foot slogging involved for this huge undertaking to happen so smoothly. It's good to know local shops support you. Well done and thank you boys and leaders! Hope you will continue for many years to come .... sending and receiving cards with the scout logo stamp on the envelope is a little Christmas tradition I would miss if it disappeared.
