Old Thorns
- Pauline (12th Feb 2013 - 13:31:38)

Am I the only one being kept awake every night by the music from Old Thorns which continues until 1.00 and 2.00am. As I get up very early in the morning I am beginning to feel like a zombie during the day! Perhaps I should just become nocturnal :-). Seriously, is there anything that can be done about it or are these guys untouchable?

Dear Pauline.
I am sorry to hear you report that music from Old Thorns has kept you awake until 1-2am.

Please may I ask have you reported this or spoken with anyone at Old Thorns? If not may I suggest you contact me immediately in order for us to fully investigate this for you so that we are able to identify if any measures are required.

Please could I suggest when you contact us you provide us with your address so we can identify its proximity to Old Thorns and if you have any record of dates which you say you were kept awake.

I can be contacted directly on ashley_butterfield@hotmail.co.uk

I look forward to hearing from you.

Odd question this, but why does Old Thorns rely on Hotmail for business communications. Most businesses have their own email domain name. Perhaps they should talk to the Editor of this web site about getting some help in this area of Corporate Image.

Not an odd question at all in my opinion! What is Old Thorns CEO using a hotmail address for?

I am currently out of the office and likely to be away until Friday of next week.

In my leisure I logged on to the Liphook.co.uk site. I read the thread from Pauline and in a desire to ensure "Pauline" was not waiting until my return I replied with my non corporate email address to ensure I acted promptly and personally to any issue that she has reported.

Alternatively I can be contacted on companysecretary@oldthorns.com and I will respond upon my return albeit in over a weeks time.

Pauline, please feel free to email either email address so I am able to investigate this for you.

As always and whenever I respond to any thread on Liphook.co.uk I would like to ensure everybody knows I have an open door and I am always more than happy to meet personally with locals and assist if I can.

If you have noise problems and cannot come to a satisfactory arrangement with the source of the noise then you can also contact the Environmental Health team at the district council who have the powers to deal with noise nuisance.

I have sent an email to both addresses as I sent an email on the 2nd Feb to which I have not received a reply, I am assuming I had the wrong email address!!!!

I am sorry if you say you have sent these an email as I have not had sight of this.
Perhaps I could ask you to forward them again?
Are you also experiancing any noise, if so please let me know of your address etc.

I have not heard from Pauline yet either.

Best regards

No I sent them to an address from your website, I have now forwarded email to the addresses you supplied on this post.

My issue is a separate subject.

Ashley as you are being so caring and wanting to help out local residents I would like to raise my concern over the bright night sky of Griggsgreen.

Some of us moved to the area as we like the dark but recently the night sky no longer appears black but either white or bright orange.

And getting brighter it seems by the day.

At least it hides the flashing sky caused by the illuminated sign advertising events that is on the wall of the sports bar ;-)

Is there anyway, there are plenty available, of reducing the amount of light pollution coming from the Old Thorns.

I look forward to your prompt reply from either email address.

Jeff - sorry for the delay. Happy to discuss anytime. perhaps you could email me to arrange a time?

Pauline - concerned that I have not heard from you in over a week since your thread/post? If you could kindly email me we can investigate this for you. As I have said I am back in the office/Old Thorns all day Friday and happy to meet if that is easier?

this posting isn't really related to original post but does connect with one of its replies.

I sent an email to Old Thorns regarding a matter when i was on a work placement last year. I was working for a local charity and used my initiative to contact some local venues for a meal for staff and volunteers hoping to negoiate on cost and impress my boss.
I used the email address from the website too but never got a reply either.
