Possible Scam Alert

Yesterday I received a call on my work phone from a gent with a scouse accent saying he was from the "Crime Prevention press office" saying they were producing a leaflet for circulation later in the year. Would I like to advertise?
Where is this to be distributed I ask Hampshire he replies, OK I say where is Hampshire police HQ I ask? pause is this a con I ask phone goes dead. Phoned Hampshire Police they know nothing about it or a crime prevention press office.
If you get a call don't give any details but see if you can get a contact as the Police would like to talk to this gent.
