Big yellow helicopter Liphook.
- paul (24th Jan 2013 - 09:15:22)

Hi,
Does any one know what was the big yellow helicopter around the sorting office area on the old A3 this morning?
It was around 9am it was landing.

There were 3 sets of sirens too, one belonged to a police car but I didn't see what the others were.

Crash near Station Road. Police and ambulance were in attendance. Road now clear. Hope everyone is OK.

On my way to work this morning there was evidence of an accident of some sort as there was a silver car, parked on my side of the road, facing the wrong way, with its headlights on and the drivers door open (which looked odd).

All the traffic seemed to be backed up almost to the post office depot. Once I got moving I saw a lady sat on the pavement with several men in high viz jackets on (there have been workmen parked on the yellow lines all week near Station Rd) apparently tending to her.

I passed 2 parked cars but couldn't see any evidence of damage, and just beyond these cars was a young woman stood, looking quite agitated, with only a jumper on, talking to another man with a high viz jacket on.

Not sure what had happened, but expect this was the reason for an emergency helicopter

I hope everyone is alright.

Chrissy

The presence of an Air Ambulance sadly indicates that there are potentially serious injuries involved. I'm not sure further speculation at this point is helpful to families and loved ones of those concerned. They must be going through a difficult time, and feeling gossipped about can't help. Our prayers are with those concerned

Well said Beth

I do see Beth's point but to be fair I think people are both interested and concerned, this is a completely normal human reaction.
I have heard a Bohunt child may have been involved and as a parent this makes things even more worrying.
Whoever was involved we all wish them well as soon as possible.

there was rumour, that a young lad, had been hit, by the wing mirror, of a car, by the station, this morning!

It was Witnessed by Year 5(9-10 year olds) pupils ,..and the child was younger than themselves!...
hope and pray the young lad, is fine!

Hi All

I hope that whoever was hurt is ok, and if it was a child as the reports seem to think then my heart goes out to them.

Lets hope that this incident is not linked to my previous link of Portsmouth Road - a car park , where it is so dangerous with all the park cars and speed of the impatient drivers that do not seem to know about the rules about who should wait for who.

Maybe now someone will listen and think about the dangers that parked cars on a busy main road cause!

hi everyone, thankyou all for your concern, it was my 7 year old boy walking to school with two older friends who was hit by the car, thankfully he was hit by the wing mirror and no serious damage was done, apart from some swelling and cuts on his face he is now completely fine, wondering what all the fuss is about!! thankyou to every body who stopped and helped. My son and his friends will be sure to always use the pelican crossings now!!
