Ice in station forecourt - Nick Hancock (22nd Jan 2013 - 22:35:51) Who is responsible for clearing snow and ice in the station forecourt? In this weather we are encouraged to leave the car at home, but if we take the train we risk breaking a leg on frozen slush. The station staff work hard to clear the platforms, but what's the point if you can't reach them safely?

Re: Ice in station forecourt - Mike G (25th Jan 2013 - 12:50:58) Whilst Network Rail own the station and, I believe, the forecourt, it is South West Trains that operates the station so it will be their responsibility to keep the approach safe. I expect it will clear by itself this weekend but if it snows again, try giving them a call. I don't expect the Parish Council to have any jurisdiction here
