Hit & Run in Yeoman's Lane - Mike Gardner (21st Jan 2013 - 09:30:41)
Anyone out there see the kind driver who smacked into the back of my car and drove off without leaving details?
My car is a Honda and it was parked yesterday all day and overnight in Yeoman's Lane.
The other vehicle will have damage to it's near frontside and, from fragments collected, the light housing will be smashed.
The police have been informed (it's required by law) but any help will be much appreciated;
Please call me on 07940 512913.

Thanks for your response; the car was parked nearest to number 22, on that side of the road.
Next to that house is an off-road resident's parking area and then some kerb - that's where I was.
Hope you've snapped 'em!

I had my drivers door stoved in when I was parked outside a friends house in Wykwood in December. Needless to say no knock on the door or name and address left. We had to go to Alton to report the accident. Very nice policeman said we could report it if we liked but they would not do anything about it. Have had that confirmed in writing.He also said virtually no one leaves their particulars. If it hadnt been for a super repair garage my car would have been written off because of its age and the damage done even though it is in superb condition.

Sounds like we are not the only victims of the careless drivers that obviously are not able to control their vehicles in this weather.
May I ask Diane what super repair garage did you use as we need to get an estimate for our damage?

Try Andy House in Longmoor Road - he has always repaired our damaged cars.
Mine was once hit whilst I was sitting in it - luckily I managed to get the reg no and the poliice were able to help. When I contacted the driver she claimed she "hadn't noticed" she had hit me although her front seat passenger had turned around to look at the car and obviously didn't see me in it.
Makes me so cross - it's what we pay our insurance premiums for - own up and pay up - leave details if you are too afraid of the owner's immediate reaction.
Hope you get the damage sorted and it doesn't cost you too much.
