EHDC Housebuilding Plans
- Ferris Cowper (19th Jan 2013 - 19:05:43)
The plan for house building throughout EHDC is called the Joint Core Strategy. My letter on this subject was printed in last week's Herald. The Government has rejected the JCS because it thinks the proposed housing numbers are too low. This has serious short term and medium term consequences, especially for Bramshott and Liphook.
If you would like to know more and to ask questions about this, I will be chairing an EHDC meeting on Tuesday 22nd. January in Whitehill and you are invited to attend. The meetiing is at 6.30pm in Whitehill Village Hall, Sutton Field, Whitehill, GU35 9BW.
Cllr. Ferris Cowper
Hampshire County Councillor.

Hello Ferris
Can you explain why it has any more consequence for Liphook then it does for any other village / town in Hampshire ?
Surely, Petersfield and Liss etc would be better suited or has the SDNP saved them from any more building ?
If that is the case then we need not be worrying about the Bohunt Manor proposals, that are also on the SDNP.

Really sick of this charade. Whatever the local people want (a balanced growth in housing with proper infrastructure) don't the developers just appeal to government and get their soulless estates with little or no coherent thought towards long term impact?
For example, what about developers contributing towards better roads, a bypass or even a leisure centre as has been mentioned so often?
The amount of new housing estates we've had and are due to keep getting, if they had all been made to put a percentage of profits in to the pot we could have had some really great town improvements.
