A3 blocked earlier today

Yet again the A3 is blocked as our beloved Highways Agency seem incapable of doing the job they are paid for...keeping the roads working...06:20 this morning they were out gritting, so what happened in the next 6 hours for it to go so badly wrong? Wrong kind of snow? Weren't expecting it? Looks more like incompetence from my perspective...
