Barn Dance - November 24 - Freddie Dawkins (7th Nov 2007 - 21:47:57) Noticed the news piece advertising the barn dance. I went last year and had a great evening. Tarantella were so good, I even bought one of their CDs. The Shanty Boys were very dry and funny and the Appalachian dancers - well, those ladies were frighteningly good. What was nice was that the "caller" took his time to build everyone's confidence in the dancing, so even if you've not tried it before, support the Carnival Committee and round up a few friends - you'll enjoy the evening. Mike G (you're starting to sound like a dj ;) - Tarantella are a right mix - but it works!

In addition to Tarantella and Graham Taylor (the caller) we have several other artists performing! Including Knickerbocker who performed in the Square before the Carnival this year. Tickets are available at many outlets around the village - The Millennium Hall, Inwood Stoves, The Parish Office or by calling Jan on 01428 723878 or me (Karen) on 01428 723971. It was a great evening last year. Doors open at 7.30 and tickets cost £10 but include a Ploughmans Supper. Bar open all night - you will need it!! Come along and support the Carnival.
