BMW closure
- Anthony (14th Nov 2025 - 19:23:02)

Apparently BMW Mini on the A3 between Liphook and Hindhead is closing down before Christmas . Very sorry for staff

Odd, if true, as they have just started recruiting

Where did you get this information from Anthony? Hopefully not the BBC :)

If that is the case then good.

Absolutely tried to fleece us this year by stating we needed about 1500 pounds worth of stuff done, which Genesis did for less than 400 and half of the jobs weren't needed anyway

Hi,

I doubt very much BMW on the A3 would close. They paid around 1 million pounds for the land. To develop, build the showrooms, and workshops, was maybe 5 million pounds +.
Opened in only 2021, is to early to change it's status, unless it has sold-out to a rival business?.

Maybe Artificial Intelligence Robots have taking over!

Information came from a very distressed member of staff

Unfortunately this news is true. As it currently stands from the end of 2025 Group 1 are closing their BMW Mini Hindhead dealership. This will come as a shock to many and is very sad for all the staff and loyal customers.

As a former customer of Barons at Hindhead, I was slightly surprised when the business moved to it's current location which isn't the easiest to access.
Having said that, on the few occasions I have visited the new premises it has always seemed very busy with parking difficult to find.
I wonder whether this is another sign of the industry's plunge into EVs before prospective customers were entirely convinced of the benefits.

We have received notification today directly from Barons today advise of their forthcoming closure. A real shame as we have found the Mini side of the business to be exemplary.

Awful for the staff, but no surprise overall.

The cost of living crisis in the UK at the moment means new car sales are down. Who would make, sell or buy a car in the declining UK at the moment?

No info as to what will happen to the site; hopefully it will be secured well to discourage certain sections of society from moving in and trashing the place!
