Chemist Car Park
- Richard (1st Nov 2025  19:02:48)

Little while ago I overheard a person that works in the chemist talking to someone about getting the potholes in the carpark fixed.

This work has now been done, so the Chemist car park is now lovely and flat

However... Two big signs have also appeared for Kelway Law - there is no direct access to Kelway Law from that car park and hopefully the Chemist will stop Kelway Law customers traipsing through the chemist

Which leads to the only logical conclusion - are Kelway Law tying to steal the car park? And I'd like to see them try to stop people parking there for the chemist.

That car park is the easiest accessible point for elderly and disabled customers of the chemist.

Hi. This car park is owned by Kelway Law but the chemist has two parking spaces in their lease from Kelway Law.

The chemist spaces are immediately on the left and right as you go into the car park.

This is hopefully made clearer by the signage.

So before it was two separate units and it was the shop Circle K/Alldays, that had an exit out the back where the car park is now - I know it did, I used to work there

But when it became two separate units - one of which does not have acces to the car park directly, suddenly the one without a back door, gets the car park.

Can anyone else smell bull manure? I mean what has more need, the chemist or one of the many Liphook estate agents ?

Go on land registry, you will see that Kelway Law do indeed own the car park! I suspect they also paid for the pot hole repairs as well?

This thread is a classic example of people getting enraged before knowing all the facts! :-D

Re: Chemist Car Park
- Richard (15th Nov 2025  10:58:51)

Can't help but notice it's still shut.

And the chemist deliveries today were done parked on a junction of a roundabout.

Not safe - meanwhile Kelway Law continue to have a stolen car park

Don't be surprised if the orange netting gets removed so that people can use it again

Re: Chemist Car Park
- Ian (15th Nov 2025  18:29:38)

Oh Richard…give it a rest! You can’t steal your own property! You obviously know nothing about this piece of land. Go on land registry, it clearly belongs to Kelway Law…stop acting like a communist

Re: Chemist Car Park
- Richard (15th Nov 2025  21:30:35)

No acting required Ian

I am a communist - you got a problem with that

Re: Chemist Car Park
- Grape (16th Nov 2025  07:12:09)

There's is never a good excuse for deliveries to block or partially block the road, other than laziness and lack of consideration.
It just so happens that the type of person to take on a driving job is not the type of person who is happy to be doing some leg work.
In the faulty process they danger us, inconvenience us and often fail to follow customers' delivery instructions. That's breaking the contract.
Not surprising when we know the type likely to be the driver.

Richard - if you are a communist then you’re the one with the problem! You’re going to go through life very bitter and disappointed (and probably ridiculed a lot)

Re: Chemist Car Park
- Richard (16th Nov 2025  12:50:31)

Ian - well, I'm in my 50s and ridiculing hasn't happened yet, so I think I'm alright thanks

Re: Chemist Car Park
- Ian (16th Nov 2025  15:47:34)

Sorry Richard, the ridiculing has happened!!!

Re: Chemist Car Park
- Richard (16th Nov 2025  22:03:04)

Oh - that was supposed to be ridiculing.

Yeah, didn't work out for you very well

Re: Chemist Car Park
- Dave (17th Nov 2025  08:22:36)

Ever heard the expression Ignorant of your own ignorance Richard? You are coming across a bit ridiculous..

Re: Chemist Car Park
- Charlie (17th Nov 2025  13:24:25)

Richard Have you ever read Animal Farm? This might enlighten you with regard to Communism - it just does not work.

Re: Chemist Car Park
- Richard (18th Nov 2025  12:13:32)

Think you're confusing Soviet Communism (the Russian version) with Theoretical Communism

Soviet communism (as implemented by the Soviet Union) is a specific, state-controlled version of communism.

The Soviet system created a one-party state with a highly centralized, government-controlled economy and often oppressive policies

This differs significantly from the broader theoretical ideal of Theoretical Communism - which is what I believe in, as working with the community.

While the theoretical ideal envisions a stateless society with communal ownership,

Not a one party state with military back-up to crush resistance.

There are different definitions of Communism

Just in case you were unaware of this.

Richard is your idea the same as what our unions are about. If so they have just about brought this country to its knees as they did before so if you’re thinking is the same not good. I’m afraid the unions idea just doesn’t work strikes all the time more higher pay firms just can’t afford it and go bust so if that’s your idea no thanks.

Re: Chemist Car Park
- Charlie (18th Nov 2025  14:14:04)

Richard I think you are the one that is confused. You did not answer my question which was “Have you ever read Animal Farm?” It is an amazing book by George Orwell and I first read it when I was 12 and I was blown away by its simplicity. To me at 12 it made complete sense. Yes, I do know what Theoretical Communism means and it has been proved many times, that if a country, society or cult tries to adopt this ideological idea ie with everyone equal with equal responsibility and rights, in time it morphs into exactly what happened in Animal Farm In case you have not read the book here is a precis. The story is based in fictional Manor Farm and the animals rebel against their tyrannical and alcoholic human farmer, Mr Jones, hoping to create a society where all animals can be equal, free, and happy away from human control. “4 legs good, 2 legs bad” was their mantra. There is a particularly sad part when Boxer, the heavy horse, such a willing worker that he is worked to death. Gradually the pigs take over - they have changed from being on four legs and now stand upright on two legs and their mantra is “two legs good, 4 legs bad. Under a self-appointed dictator, Napoleon, the farm ends up in a far worse state than it was before. It is many years since I read the book but to this day I am impressed by George Orwell’s insight, authorship and intelligence. Please read the book.

Hi all - how about we stop acting like 6 year olds and turn our attention elsewhere?!

Well said C

Re: Chemist Car Park
- Ian (18th Nov 2025  18:45:45)

What the hell has communism got to do with the chemist car park?
Stick to the original thread.

Re: Chemist Car Park
- C (18th Nov 2025  21:47:43)

@Ian - treat it like a drinking game. Basically everything that is wrong can be linked to a disparate but select set of items. Here’s some examples:

- the weather’s getting chilly!
- that’s an immigration issue!

- there’s a lot of potholes about
- the LGBTQI+ community is to blame

- why is the A3 closed?
- that’s the result of the current government!

Bonus points the more random and unconnected the post becomes from the original thread!

Happy playing!

What is going on with this car park? Access is still blocked.

Odd.

Sorry if the answer is buried somewhere in this thread, which includes some rather random comments. lol.

Re: Chemist Car Park
- Martin (29th Nov 2025  16:15:41)

A friend was telling me today they overheard discussion this morning that one of the staff said that the tarmac hadn't gone off yet which struck me as odd.

It's been finished a while, so I did a bit of research and in normal conditions tarmac should be ready to park on in 5 to 7 days. Longer in cold weather. But not this much longer so I've no idea why heels are being dragged as regards reopening it

Re: Chemist Car Park
- Richard (30th Nov 2025  09:12:17)

Stunning thought this:

Maybe if people hadn't started making ill-informed comments about the ownership of said car park, then the owners may have tried to expedite its re-opening

Just saying...
